Position:Scientific Coordinator
Description:There is an opening for a Scientific Coordinator in the Duke Institute for Genome Sciences & Policy’s Center for Systems Biology (DCSB). This position will be hired as a Research Scientist with the working title of Scientific Coordinator. The DCSB supports research whose goal is to understand the dynamics of biological networks. Funded by the NIH, the IGSP and the Duke Provost’s office, the DCSB integrates experimental data with a wide range of computational and mathematical expertise to address the problem of modeling the dynamic properties of biological networks. Currently, there are over 20 faculty members associated with the DCSB and approximately 60 graduate students and post-docs. Duties of the Scientific Coordinator will include organizing and implementing the scientific activities associated with the annual symposium and annual retreat as well as with the weekly scientific meetings and lunch meetings. Additional duties include developing our national and international outreach efforts, developing the scientific content of our web site, preparing progress reports and aiding in the preparation of grant renewals. Requirements:The successful candidate will have a PhD in a related field and evidence of excellent written and verbal communications skills.
